Electric Daisy Carnival Riot: Felony Vandalism
L.A. Now reports LAPD and prosecutors said they're trying to figure out whether to file criminal charges after a "near-riot" on Hollywood Boulevard during the "Electric Daisy Carnival Experience" movie premiere Wednesday July 27, 2011.
LAPD, undeterred from locking up the wrong man for the Dodger Stadium Beating, arrested two people on suspicion of violating California Penal Code Section 594 vandalism, as a felony, for damage to windshields and roofs of three cop cars. Vandalism is also a misdemeanor in California.
LAPD and prosecutors won't divulge plans on filing charges against those who organized the event.
"Our personnel are working in conjunction with LAPD to investigate this incident. Once we receive the files and review everything we will make a determination about whether there was any criminal behavior. Until then, we have no need to comment any further," said John Franklin, spokesman for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office.
