Retired Riverside Cop Accused of 2003 Child Molestation
The Los Angeles Times reports a retired Riverside police detective was arrested Friday, July 8, 2011 on
suspicion of child molestation for allegedly abusing a child in 2003.
The accused is now 73 years old. He retired as a detective with the Riverside Police Department in 1990. He was arrested at his Riverside home, which also was raided by investigators, according to the police department.
The child molestation investigation began after the parents of the child, who is now 15 years old, reported the incidents to the police department. The former detective was booked on three counts of child molestation and is being held in Riverside County's Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta. Bail has been set at $50,000.
