Arrest In Juvenile Sexual Assault Case Out of California Adventure Park
The Orange County Register reports a Northern California teenager was arrested on suspicion of inappropriately touching a 17-year-old girl while dancing at California Adventure Park, police revealed Tuesday, May 31.
The incident was reported about 9:15 p.m. May 20 while the girl was dancing at ElecTRONica with a large group of people; a 17-year-old boy from Menlo Park, who did not know the girl, began dancing with her, Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez told the Orange County newspaper.
As the dancing continued, "the male began dancing closer to the female, and he eventually touched her inappropriately in a manner which, Martinez says, constituted sexual assault,"
The girl and her friends immediately reported the incident to Disney reps, who "escorted" the teenage boy off the crowded dance floor to wait for the cops, Martinez said.
The boy, whose name is not being released because he is a minor, was arrested on suspicion of sexual battery. He was booked at Orange County Juvenile Hall and was
released early last week, Martinez said.
"Once this investigation is finalized, we will be presenting our findings to the juvenile authorities," Martinez said.
